Declined because of her GENDER.

This is a true story.

I have a woman friend who has owned her own business for 45 years. When she and her husband started up, they needed money to get going and so they looked to their bank and then to members of their community to give them some financing. Each time they were declined because of gender and race – as you might imagine this scenario was not uncommon in the 1950’s. A woman owned business was unheard of and finding capital was almost impossible.

The Noxious Urban Myth

Willpower is a noxious urban myth.

I am usually pretty good creating a plan and then taking action on it.

And like you, I usually I get some great results from that .

But sometimes. . . I question it.

Why isn’t it happening faster, bigger, umm right now?

I admit I am inpatient and I want immediate results.

All it takes is hard work, willpower and self-discipline, right?

That’s what we all think, but research proves otherwise:

Straight up will power is not always the driver of change. That’s an urban myth.
